What Viral Digest is

Viral Digest turns public YouTube channels, playlists, and videos into ranked digests: a viral score per video plus downloadable transcripts in Markdown. By using the site you agree to these terms.

Browsing is free, digests are public

Generating and browsing ranked digests is free for everyone. Digests you generate while signed in are saved to the public history and visible to anyone. Don't run a digest you wouldn't want listed publicly.

Credits and transcripts

Producing a transcript that has never been produced before costs one credit and requires an account. Once produced, that transcript becomes available to every visitor, free, permanently. That's how the product stays affordable. Credits are one-time purchases, never expire, and new accounts receive a free starting grant. Credits have no cash value and aren't transferable.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Credit purchases are final and non-refundable. If something went wrong with a purchase, like a double charge or credits that never arrived, contact us and we'll make it right.

Your account

You sign in with Google and are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service: automated scraping of the site, attempts to circumvent credits, or unlawful use.

YouTube content

Videos, titles, statistics, and transcripts originate from YouTube and belong to their creators. Viral Digest uses YouTube API Services; by using it you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Transcripts are provided for research, analysis, and personal use. Respect the creators' rights when you use them.

No warranties, limited liability

Viral Digest is provided as-is. Scores are estimates, sources can change or disappear, and we can't promise uninterrupted service or error-free data. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update the service and these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date above. If you keep using Viral Digest after a change, that's acceptance.
